2017 Men’s Day Weekend

“Men Who Are Not Afraid to Worship”

2 Samuel 6:14

What an OUTSTANDING Men’s Weekend!!! We kicked off the weekend with a Friday night service with Pastor Robert Campbell from New Beginning Christian Church. The New Beginning Praise Team accompanied him in song and praise as he provided an outstanding message incorporating his personal growth in understanding how to worship without shame.

We followed the Friday night service with our Power Breakfast on Saturday morning at Golden Corral Restaurant. Rev. Jonathan Barfield (New Hanover County Commissioner) was our Guest Speaker.  While giving insight to his faith walk to build his personal relationship with Jesus Christ, Rev. Barfield highlighted the foundational premise that as men we need each other to lean on as brothers in Christ and provided several specific examples of how we can do so with another Brother in Christ.

The afternoon was devoted to our Macedonia male youth as they had a fun afternoon bowling and fellowship at Cardinal Lanes Bowling Alley. This was coordinated by Rev. Christopher Murray (Co-Youth Minister), sponsored by Macedonia and was indeed an incredibly successful outing.

Sunday morning at the 7:45 a.m. service, our Guest was Pastor Cameron Hankins (New Christian Chapel Church) along with the New Christian Men’s Chorus. At the 11 a.m. service, we were blessed to have Elder Ricky McLean (New Hope FWB Church). Both men of God brought an exceptional close to our Men’s Weekend utilizing our theme “Men Who Are Not Afraid To Worship”.  Throughout their sermons, they emphasized that “A Godly Man is not concerned with what others think of him when it comes to giving God his just praise”. They did an amazing job of delivering and highlighting the message that our worship of God should not depend on the externals or critics and that we must not be afraid to demonstrate to the world our love and devotion to God.

It was an awesome Men’s Weekend as we give special thanks to our guest Pastors and Speakers as well as to Keithon Mitchell who provided an outstanding Mime during both services.  The Men of Macedonia (Band of Brothers) all worked in a concerted effort from singing in the T.L Henry male Chorus, to ushering, to scripture reading and prayers. These individual and collaborative efforts created a successful 2017 Men’s Weekend! Pictures from our Men’s Day weekend are shown on the next two pages.
