A Time for Concern Students will study Micah in Unit 32. Through studying this prophet, students should learn how greed can affect our lives and how to avoid its trap; how to understand God’s justice and to treat people justly; what it means to allow God to change a heart; how to become a Christian if they are not already one; and ways to continue becoming a person of honesty and integrity.

April 5

Bible Basis: God speaks against His people (Micah 1:1-2) because of their greed (2:2), disrespect for persons (2:8-9), and corruption (6:10-12).

Bible Truth: Overemphasis on material possessions leads to coveting, which in turn results in acts of dishonesty and violence.

Lesson Aim: That students understand that unchecked greed will lead to many forms of dishonesty.

April 11

Bible Basis: Ignorance of God results in oppression of others (Mic.3:1-5, 9-12).

Bible Truth: Every person is of equal value in the eyes of God, to be treated with equal justice.

Lesson Aim: That students make an effort to treat all people justly.

April 18

Bible Basis: His Son shall reign (Mic. 4:1-5; Jas. 4:1-4).

Bible Truth: War is the result of people’s greed and will be ended only when God controls their hearts.

Lesson Aim: That students desire the reality of a changed heart because of

God’s working in their lives.

April 25

Bible Basis: Pure religion is expressed in right deeds (Mic. 6:3-4, 6-8; Jas. 1:22-27).

Bible Truth: Genuine worship of God is expressed through right and honest dealings with all people.

Lesson Aim: That students will view honesty and integrity as means of

expressing their love for God.
